My Dear Ora and Porter:
This morning I received your good letter and was very glad to get it. I was a little- not by a greatdeal disappointed that you should not have concluded to be down here first of next week, but I
will not complain, but I will appreciate you more when you do come.
Yes, it was funny to go to depot and then come back- it made me lonesome all day. But it was
back than I should not go- I guess.
Yes, I read your papers, but this morning- many thanks- I enjoy reading them- after I have
enjoyed reading your letters. Sorry you had had spell of [?]- hope you will be beautiful down
here perhaps you will- that alone would pay us for the change.
I wondered the other day if you would not be out of money soon or you were making
preparations to come down here. I enclose you $10.00 and you can cover this get anything you
want on credit so you can hold back on your cash- if you are liable to make short. I presume I
can come home this or week of next- and will look to that end.
If I come home, I may conclude we had better pack our goods so we can order there without
any more trouble- or both making trip back- Charlie was hurt Wednesday night by someone
throwing hatchet or something as him and cutting bad to lock in his hip. Mr. Baum had been
letting his clock and his hip I had in sweet in and think it will heal rapidly now.
There were very interesting services yesterday- I send your paper. Mr. Baum [?] use up one of
his houses and Mr. Mohler, Mr. Kenner's clerk, I went with to Capitol Hill- about one mile.

It has been very cold here- too cool for comfort. but seems warmer this morning. Mr. Seath was
with me overnight.
Well I must close. I am always in hurryTell Porter I will expect his letter very day till I get it
Your loving husband
Dick
