Box 1, Folder 1, Item 2- Letter to Ora Morgan and Porter Heath Morgan from Dick T. Morgan
(1880 April 07)

United States Senate,
Washington, D. C.
April 7, 1889
My Dear Ora and Porter:
Your very good letters were it this morning. It was the best thing I have had since I left home. I
was very glad to hear from you, and I would like so well to be at home with you, and hope to be
soon. Glad your back door fixed. I thought about it so much, but when I knew you would master
the situation.
We expect our bill to pass this week certain.
You talked so very sweetly- and I appreciate your words very much. If I thought all our mutual
good would be served by me returning home immediately. I would certainly come for church,
but I cannot think so. While you are lovely and want me with you so much, look on the other
side. I see what you would advise me to do.
The thing we are nearing the end here and I hope each day to give you something more definite
about when I will start.
I attended church last night. I called on hale ford, Press Secretary this morning. Also went to see
P.M. General. Called on [?] and some other person who I thought might aid me.
Porter, I was so glad to get your good letters, and mama says you have been such a good boy. I
hope to be home soon.

Much love and kisses,
Lovingly Yours,
Dick
