Box 1, Folder 1, Item 1— Letter to Porter Heath Morgan from Dick T. Morgan (1880 April 09)

United States Senate,
Washington, D.C.
April 9, 1889
My Dear Porter,

Your good letters came to hand in due time. I enjoyed them very much. I supposed your school
is out by this time and that you are free to rest and have lots of fun. I hope you will enjoy
yourself and keep well. Uncle Fred writes that Grandpa has been with you. I supposed you had
a good time. I regret very much I could not be home when Grandpa was there.
Well it is very aggravating to me to be away from home so long. I can-not say when I will start
home, but will telegraph you when I start. How is your garden getting along?
I supposed you are having warm weather now. It is warm here. I have nothing new to write you.
Our bill has not passed and we can’t tell when it will pass. But think it will pass this week. I hope
I shall see you soon.

Love and kiss mama for me, and accept a large lunch for yourself
You Affectionate Father,
Dick T. Morgan
